Using NCache Manager

You change the settings of a cache while it is stopped; follow these steps in order to apply the configuration changes:

From the Cache Explorer view, right click on the cache name to which you want to apply configuration.
Make sure the cache is stopped, else the option will be greyed out.
Click on the Apply Configuration option.

Your changes will be applied on all of the nodes of this clustered cache.

Note

You might get prompted with a dialog box upon these changes, asking whether to reload or overwrite the cache config file. For more detail on maintaining data integrity, refer to this chapter.

You can also apply configurations using the option on the toolbar.

Troubleshooting

Unable to Apply Configurations due to Disabled Network Card

You may not be able to apply cache configurations or clients may be unable to connect with server even on local machine. These problems arise when network card is disabled or cable is not connected.

Workaround

To resolve this problem, restart NCache service once after the network card is disabled or network cable is disconnected. Restarting NCache service will rebind it to local host rather than IP address of that machine.
