Configure Maintenance Mode
Maintenance Mode is specific to the POR topology for NCache. With this feature, if a user intends to remove a node from the cluster due to any reason with the intention that it will be added back in a specific time period, an option to remove that node, Stop for Maintenance is provided.
The user can enter a timeout period, which comprises the time period for which the state transfer is halted.
Using a dialog box, the user can configure the timeout value and flag if the node should be stopped gracefully. The Graceful Node down option means that the node should go down only after completion of current tasks.
The purpose of this timeout is to establish the time frame after which if the node being removed does not join, it will be declared dead and regular node removal process will be initiated. The timeout can be set anywhere between 0 to 600 minutes, whereby '0' portrays infinity. Also, there should be a minimum of 2 nodes in a cluster to apply maintenance mode.
Note
- If another node goes down during maintenance mode, the entire cluster will exit maintenance mode.
- No other node can be joined to or removed from the cluster while Maintenance Mode is on.
