When you try to monitor a remote server node from an account that is not an administrator, an error message stating "Computer Name not found."
Workaround
Perform the following steps in order to enable remote monitoring on the server node:
- Give READ access to the files below:
%windir%/system32/PERFCxxx.DAT
%windir%/system32/PERFHxxx.DAT
Note
xxx is the system's basic language ID; for example, 009 for English.
- Give READ access to the registry keys mentioned below on the remote computer using REGEDT32:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Perflib including all sub keys of that key.
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/SecurePipeServers/winreg
Important
If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, it results in serious problems, which makes you reinstall the Windows operating system. If you want to use this tool, use it at your own risk.
