Work with Multiple NCache Versions
If you have downloaded the latest version of NCache for one of your environments but don't want to risk upgrading to a more critical environment, keep the limitations below in mind.
Important
You can have different NCache versions running in separate environments. However, it is recommended to use the same version NCache across all environments.
Limitations of Using Multiple NCache Versions
- You won't be able to use the same features across the board. You can learn more about the features available in each version through our release notes.
- Using multiple versions can also lead to license confusion, as the version already in use may have a different licensing scheme.
- You may have to apply a patch to an older version to address an issue that doesn't exist in the new version.
- If all your NCache versions suffer from the same issue, you will need to apply multiple patches to address a single issue.
Note
Additionally, if you opt for a feature that fulfills your purpose in separate environments, you might require a separate code to establish your business logic.
