What to Expect in NCache 5.3 SP2
NCache 5.3.2 ensures your distributed caching is more secure than ever with the following modifications.
Credential Caching
First and foremost, the NCache team has ensured that all the security and verification necessary for this update does not compromise application performance. An additional caching layer exists on top of the existing security provider, reducing the need for repeated calls to the underlying authentication system.
Upgraded Active Directory Provider
Speaking of which, NCache has upgraded its LDAP provider for Windows servers to leverage the enhanced authentication and authorization capabilities it provides.
Combined Node and Cache Security
NCache now offers node and cache-level security combined. Further, this option is available for individual users and groups, ensuring all caches on the respective node are automatically secured. It also empowers administrators to tailor access permissions easily (through both the PowerShell and the NCache Management Center).
TLS Between Server Nodes and Across Bridge Communication
5.3 SP2 also offers enhanced TLS support, securing communication between clients and servers, different server nodes, and even across a Bridge. This enhancement guarantees that all data transmitted across these channels remains confidential and protected from potential threats. Not to mention, users can employ the new and improved NCache TLS through the NCache Management Center or PowerShell.
Support for Certificates in the Personal Store
Moreover, NCache has also improved its security protocol support. It now allows users to place NCache certificates in the Trusted Root and Personal Store – guaranteeing smoother operations in group policy environments.
NCache Playground with NCache 5.3 SP2
Along with all these modifications, NCache has launched Playground, a dedicated environment for users to explore, experiment, and familiarize themselves with NCache features, samples, and more. You can learn more about the NCache Playground here.
