The NCache team is excited to announce the release of NCache 5.3 SP3 with an enhanced Java Edition! To learn more about the corresponding changes and improvements, you can read the NCache 5.3 SP3 Release Notes.
What to Expect in NCache 5.3 SP3?
A few of the enhancements in this release have been discussed below.
OutProc Server-Side Code Execution Model
NCache is now offering advanced server-side code (Cache Loader and Refresher, Read-through, and Write-through operations) execution through the NCache Execution Service in its Java Edition. Additionally, NCache can now automatically deploy the necessary server-side providers when a new node is added to the cluster optimizing code execution.
Java Client Cache Architecture Synchronization with .NET
To ensure consistency across .NET and Java editions, NCache 5.3 SP3 has synchronized the Client Cache architecture for both platforms. This includes the implementation of Readthrough and Writethrough providers in the Java Client Cache, resulting in enhanced synchronization between L1 and L2 caches.
Improvements in NCache Management Center
Significant updates have been made in the NCache Management Center including the ability to download log files, start, stop, and restart the various NCache Services.
Enhanced Export-CacheConfiguration Command
Export-CacheConfiguration in NCache 5.3 SP3 now includes server-side feature deployments. Additionally, the command also now requires users to specify cache names to improve the folder structure for these cache configurations.
All-in-One Docker Image for Server and Developer Editions
Users can now install both Server or Developer editions with a single published image on DockerHub.
Client Connection Routing via Load Balancer
With NCache 5.3 SP3, clients can connect to cache servers through a load balancer. This feature has been designed for dealing with environments like Kubernetes clusters or cloud subscriptions with restricted access. This configuration works by using multiple requests to establish connections with all the desired servers connected to the load balancer.
TLS Support for Java Client
The security enhancements introduced in 5.3 SP2 such as enhanced TLS support, Node and Cache level security and more have been integrated into the Java edition.
Hibernate and Spring Integration
The NCache Java Integrations for Hibernate for Spring have been updated, eliminating the need for the JCache interface that was previously required. Furthermore, improved session management for Spring-based web applications has also been introduced.
