Manage Cache Servers
The NCache Cloud Portal allows users to perform management operations on Virtual Machines (VMs), such as starting, stopping, restarting, and removing a VM. To perform these actions, you will be required to link a Deployment User as detailed for both Azure and AWS.
To do so, you will use the NCache servers displayed on the dashboard as demonstrated below:
After selecting the VM, click on the relevant action.
Manage Cache Servers: Adding a Virtual Machine
You add a virtual machine using automatic (in AWS & Azure) or manual (in AWS & Azure) deployment, as explained previously.
Manage Cache Servers: Removing a Virtual Machine
For a manually deployed VM, you will be provided with a script for VM removal along with its resources on the specific cloud vendor (AWS/Azure).
Alternatively, for an automatically deployed VM, the VM in question. However, if you have removed a Deployment User from our portal then a script will only be generated for your convenience to remove the resources from the vendor.
Note
Do consider that this script will only be for your convenience and you may choose not to execute it.
Server Actions
You can also perform the following actions on cache servers:
- See Details: To review VM-relevant information like its VPC and Resource Group, along with information like when it expires.
- NCache Manager: For accessing the NCache Manager through HTTPS - which is only available through automatic deployment and if the user has enabled it. It should appear as follows:
- Connect: For accessing the VM via RDP (if using a Windows-based VM) and SSH into the machine (if using a Linux-based VM).
